I installed a remote start on my 02 chevrolet avalanche...
1st ignition is wired to pink wire.
2nd ign is wired to white wire
when wiring for defroster to I simply unplugged my 2nd ign for a second to test wire to see if constant power was on white wire (2nd ing) white vehicle was running.
Then I plugged my accesor wire into the Orange wire.
the replugged the 2nd ign back into the white wire.
My check engine light came on ...haven't moved care a inch. I read on here about drive train indications when 2nd ign isn't used. I called onstar and the diagnosed it as a drive train warning..
there fore i checked wiring, everything seemed fine. I then unplugged completely remote starter unit.
DARN light is still on. therefore I disconnected battery for a minute, and it still was on after restarting.
IS THERE A FUSE? OR A RESET? I'M ABOUT READY GIVE UP. check engine Lt. 02 Avalanche -- posted image.
I'm using an omega 4lx, with my factory remotes, its seems to work great.....as for wiring, it seems compatible to other remote starts as far as main haress colors (constant, starter, 1and2 ign., acces,
please help ? it would be truely appreciated.

You have to unplug the battery and wait 5 minutes if you want to plug everything back (remote start) make sure all conections are made pink is ign, white is 2nd ign , orange is acc, brown is 2nd acc, red 12 v. must the time the check engine still on, so you have to drive the car and the check engine should disapear. it happened to me. make sure the gas cap is close sometimes the check engine came on for that reason.

Usualy there is no possible reset without a scan tool . but I ever see somewhere that if you leave the battery disconected for 1.5 hour it will reset by it self. (I am not sure of this one but it worth the try compare to the dealer fee to erase that code. If you have to drive the car do it slowly.

AS long as you have your 2nd IGN (white powered up) when the truck is started you won't have any troubles.. It is when the RS starts the truck and the white sees no power, you turn the key and hit your brake to stop the RS and have the truck take overis when you have to worry. It's a timing thing. If you just start the truck with the key, you won't have any troubles (even though the idiot light is still on) But try disconnecting the battery for 5 min or longer and that should take care of the light.. But if you don't have the white wire hooked to your remote start.. DON'T drive the truck... you could blow the transmision!!!

well i started it with key, after unplugging battery for 5 minute , light was still on, drove it around block....and it shifted fine it seemed but light did not go off. maybe I should try 1.5 hours like user: Montrealler said.
I can relate to the issue..once you hit brake vehicle should take over command totally. I really think it is a idoit light reset problem.   as I mentioned before I totally disconnected wires from RS I tested white wire while RS was running vehicle and it had power.
It was my stupidity for starting it with remote start after i unplugged the 2nd ignition...for some stupid reason. I wanted to test my 2nd ingnition through the contact in the t-tap instead of probing it.    Stupid., i should have just gone with the my RS accessory wire to vehicle accessory #1 by the book. Stupid.

I really don't think it is a tranny problem., just would like to reset let to see for sure. I even called Onstar and they said have so many asking to do it...but they can't either, they can just read the diag. codes.
Thanks for you help.    I agree i think light is just stuck on ....anyone's input would be appreciated. thanks.

would be nice to not have to power 2nd accy wire. do you know approx. what is powers on a chevy../and or avalanche...defroster seemed to work fine with 1st acc only...
though you may have a point...
guess i'm going to drop by advance in morning to reset code to see if i'm ok....if not I'll attack the brown wire angle.
thanks so much.

Ok try this.....make sure you power on both ignitions and both acc. during remote start. I haven't ever had this problem but the vehicle may think there is a problem because both acc. wires aren't powered on when the vehicle is running.
