1993 vw eurovan has factory central locking.  Turn key in lock, all doors unlock.  There are no lock unlock switches, but if you lift the lock it also locks / unlocks all doors.

I found the "lock / unlock" wires (yellow and white leaving driver's door and connected to those as suggested in the crimestopper CS845RKE manual.

I can hear the relays clicking away on the new keyless module when I try to lock / unlock,  but no locking / unlocking is ocurring.  I tried it for both negative pulse and positive pulse set ups.  No luck.  Did I tap the wrong wire at the wrong location?  Does this type of system usually need a double pulse?  I believe I can set the unit up for double pulse if needed, but that is only for unlock, right?  I don't have lock function either.

Fortunately none of this has caused the factory system to stop working.

BTW there is no factory alarm of this van.  Any help is much appreciated.

Set up for 3 sec. pulses... it should be a vacuum system. If you do not hear a vaccuum pump when you lock or unlock manually, then you need to add an actuator in the driver's door.

It's not operated off vacuum - definitely electric.  No vacuum lines going to the doors.  Or is there a vacuum controller somewhere else in this vehicle?  I have the full shop manual, wouldn't be hard to find out.  But I really think its all electric.  Nonetheless the keyless unit does offer a 3 second pulse so maybe worth a try.  Thanks for the help!

Almost certain it is not vacuum.  1993 was the first year for the eurovan, it was a totally new design and had fairly modern stuff.

So the actuator that I need - is this a solenoid that physically moves the lock in the drivers door?  Anybody got a link to one?

I did some more probing.  Def. no vacuum.  4 wires to harness (no illumination)  Red +12v always, brown gnd always.  Yellow shows ground when doors in unlocked position and +12v when doors in locked position.  White shows +12v when doors in unlocked position and gnd when doors in locked position.  Is this a classic reverse polarity scenario?

Crimestopper instructions show a diagram for reverse polarity if thats what I have.  I have read this page:

https://www.the12volt.com/doorlocks/doorlocks.asp

and it doesn't seem to exactly fit any of those.  Help??

Figured it out it is standard positive trigger door lock.  I initially wired it for negative trigger, that blew the fuses and I didn't notice they were blown when I first tried it for positive.  Pretty easy, really.  Thanks for all the help of this site.
