Customer calls to ask if there are any comfirmation on the unit that will allow him to knows that the unit is in valet mode beside the fact that it won't allow him to remote start. Car is a 99 Civic 5 speed, everything works. Just a quick reference questions that I don't know since I don't have the car to try out. I know that cycling the unit 5 time between ACC an ON will do the trick. But the customer questions is if there are any indication say a horn chirp or a solid led on the antenna to let him know that it is in valet mode. Thanks for those who reply.

There is no visual for valet mode on these units other than the fact that the remote start feature is disabled, but the door locks still operate. If this happend then tell them to press the lock + trunk button for 1/2 sec and it will release the valet. That's probably how he got it in valet mode in the first place without knowing it. I've had countless customer's come in telling me that the remote start doesn't work anymore ( only door locks ). Some people really need to read the manual.

Thanks Jeff,
It's one of the reference questions that kinda hurts your brain because you never use it yourself. Do you know if there is a horn to confirm it when you press lock and trunk or flash of the parking light. I don't know if I hook up the horn for this car because I only hook it up when the horn wire is right in front of me or when I am not busy and on request only. I don't want to tell them about the horn when I didn't hook it up. It's one of those pesky customer that wants to know everything about there unit and calls you up once in a while to wonder what other buttons do.
As to the Compustar user manual. I think it's very poorly written, so I don't blame the customer for calling me. I have more call on the Compustar unit on how to do this and that than my Autostart brand. There is no way the average user can understand it. I think you got to have a PHD in engineering to understand the user guide on the Compustar.

I've actually never insatlled the horn option on any of the 1WAMS units that i've installed. The customer's around here have never asked for this confirmation and only want parking lights. I know from another member saying that the horn confirmation is there for lock & unlock but not sure about the valet option. Try it out. Post your results.

For future references:
If you used the key to get into valet mode. No horn confirmation, just flash. I could not get out of valet mode with the key. It seems that you can only get out of valet mode with the remote only. (lock + trunk button for 1/2 sec.)
Entering valet mode with remote, one horn confirmation and one parkinglights flash.
Exiting valet mode with remote two horn confirmation and two parking lights flash.
