Alright Car is 2005 Mercury Mariner

I will be installing a R/S this saturday and dont want to mess it up. I have installed many radios and electronics in cars but lately have been more in the computer world and not 12 volt.

I have the wiring diagram from direct wire

Suggestions

Locking/unlocking systems uses a single wire operation- what relay and resistor? How do you wire it up?

DO i need to run a separate power wire from battery since the 12v inside dash is 10amp. If i do run a wire 12v what size and amp for fuse is needed?

I was thinking 10 gauge with 30amp

If i want the dome light to illuminate when doors are unlocked what is needed. Right now when i take the key out of ignition the dome light comes on and also when i unlock the doors it comes on.

Car is equipped with factory anti theft- will this interefere with the R/S? Do i have to disable it? When i close all doors the parking lights flash letting me know its armed will i lose this feature.

Is it possible to use the F immobilizer instead of the 555u or 556u?

I also have heated seats how hard is it to hook them up on aux channel? I assume a relay is needed as well.

Thanks for any info you guys can share with me. I searched through alot of post and didnt find what i wanted specificaly for my car. I know my car is like the tribute and escape.

What do you recommend for securing connections? Like the resistor thing how do you connect those there so small?

1) for the door locks you need 2 relays wired up to provide a strong ground pulse for the door locks. you also need a 1000 (1K) ohm resistor for unlock. if your unsure how to wire the relays, all the doorlock diagrams are listed in the tool bar to the left on the 12volt.com site
2)This is the same wiring as the tribute/escape, ive done tons of these using the 12V wire at the ignition harness and have never had a problem.
3) for your domelight supervision, provided whichever system you are installing has a supervision wire output, take the domelight sup. wire from the unit and this will trigger the domelight wire which is listed as PINK (-) in the drivers kickpanel
4)yes you need to interface with the factory alarm disarm wire. this is listed as DARK BLUE/LIGHT GREEN in the drivers kickpanel. the remote starter should have a pulse before start output/or factory alarm disarm output. use this wire to trigger the dark blue/light green wire to shut off the factory alarm.
5)im assuming your talking about using the 555f? no this will not work on this vehicle. you need to use a key buried in a key box if your using a dei interface, other wise im sure someone makes an interface that will not require you to lose a key.
6)as far as the heated seats are concerned, you need to test the wires at the heated seat switch to figure out the polarity (+), (-), etc. and then wire up an aux. channel accordingly.
have fun, hope this answers your Q's?

This car is a ford escape. You don't need resistors or relays for the locks. You can grab high current constant power in the drivers kick don't tap into the one at the ignition switch. Follow the diagram for the 05 escape and your good to go.. The thread also has pics with the wires labeled can't get much easier.

Ok I got everything hooked up and it all works great except one thing.

When i lock - parking lights flash once

When i unlock- parking lights DONT flash when set to Auto or off(headlights switch)

But when i unlock after remote started they flash.

This is a very strange problem and couldnt figure it out why this would do it. However i see from factory the car doesnt light up either with factory remotes on unlock. But why would they flash when the car has been remote started.

How hard is it to wire up the driver door priority????

You guys been so helpful thank you very much!!!!

This remote starter is my bday present and i got the viper 791xv for 125 bucks but didnt hook the alarm up since i really dont like alarms but if i ever do need it- the brain is at least equipped for it
