turbo timer install with alarm

installing a turbo timer, but also have an aftermarket alarm system.  how can i install the turbo timer or alarm so when the timer is counting down, i could still arm the alarm without waiting for the timer to finish before arming the alarm. please help.... thanks!

Just out of curiousity, how much did the turbo timer cost? I've never put one in for anyone but the Crimestopper remote start/keyless units I've been putting in have that turbo timer feature built in. Now I see those on Ebay for about $50.00. I'm sure there must be a step up unit that includes an alarm. So basically what I'm saying is maybe it might be easier to use your existing wires and put in a new alarm/remote start/keyless/turbo timer. I'm sure that it would be designed to auto arm after the timer shutdown. Then again I don't know what the turbo timers cost. But this unit here has the turbo timer feature. CS-2011RS Series IV
I just did a quick search on Ebay and found that unit for about $90 shipped Ebay Buy it Now and an auction here Ebay auction starting at $50

type of car and type of alarm would help.

i can tell you how to do this but it will depend on the type of alarm whether the alrm has internal immobiliser relays or not so find out what alarm you are going put in or already have and i tell you how to do it!!!

will take a look at the crimestopper unit.  it might be easier with that system since it has everything built in already.  i have a '95 nissan 240sx with a viper 600.  putting in a turbo timer from greddy.  got the timer from a buddy so i didnt have to pay for it.  i looked on some of the other internet sites, and they show using a relay.   what do you guys think?  thanks!

easy find the ignition sense wire (yellow) on the alarm if it is connected to the acc wire cool you don't need to do anything if it is connected to ignition then change it to acc and connect your turbo timer outputs to the ignition wires only, so that when the car is turned off the car stays running but the acc are turned off so the alarm thinks the engine has stopped running so you can arm the alarm and the turbo timer runs down without a problem this will work good luck

No i wouldn't advise u to hook it up to ACC coz then your car isn't installed properly...ie ACC drops out when u crank the car...Alarm needs IGN meaning no voltage drop when u crank....ie Immobilser points work off IGN feed!

Tell me how ur car is immolilised..

Yes we aussies know a thing or two about 12 volts..

on a viper 600 the external relay switches when there is negative on one side of the coil (neg out when armed) and positive on the other which is acc in this circumstance or ignition in all other circumstances so if the alarm is armed and you crank, it may start but as soon as the ignition switches back to ignition it will stall as long as you have a fuel or ignition cut in the other way which the alarm needs a constant feed during crank which is all internal immobilisers (Australian standard) i use a diode spliter on the alarm ignition wire and connect this to both the acc and the starter so even when the acc drops out on start there is still power on the ignition sense wire from the starter wire i have used both situations on allot of cars and it works every time hope this explains it all

kinda lost me there xtreme069.  sorry.  but if the car still has power (since the timer is counting down) , the alarm won't arm right? think it would be easier to just use a relay, connect one end of the ign. wire from the alarm to relay #30, the other end to relay #87a, #85 to +12V, 87 not used, and then 86, wire from the turbo timer.  got this info from another website. think this will work?  thanks guy for all the info!!!

the olny thing youl would have to worry about is if your shock sensor picks up vibration from the motor running, or when it shuts down..if thats a problem maybe wire the activation lead to your sensors in the same way you will wire your ign. that way the sensors don't start thinking before the motor shuts down, and no false alarms will occur....just a thought.
