Compustar 1WAM4R Alarm problem

I have a Compustar 1WAM4R remote start/alarm installed in a 97 Jeep with Manual Transmission. The remote starter functions properly. However, the alarm function wants to constantly re-arm itself, even after it has been disarmed with the remote. I will disarm the system when entering the vehicle like usual. After closing the door, within about 5 seconds the 'armed' LED on the dash will start blinking. I will again disarm the system via the remote, only to have it rearm itself again. Even after I have turned the ignition key to the 'run' position it will rearm. The only way I have found to stop it from automatically rearming is to set it to valet mode on the remote, but this will turn off the remote start function. I have also tried setting the 'passive' function on the remote but this didn't change anything either. Is there a proceedure to 'reset' the functions on the remote? Or am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Reading from your post it looks like the system is set to passive arming. What you want to do is set the system to active arming which will remedy your problem. I don't have the manual for your unit to tell you how. You have to refer back to it. I don't remember it might be PRESSING START AND THE TRUNK BUTTON FOR 0.5 SECOND TO GET IT BACK TO ACTIVE ARMING.    Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.
