Has anyone put a Viper 800 alarm system in an 87 TOyota Supra. I am stumped. The install instructions regarding the wiring harnesses and the actual ones don't completely match up. For instance, the number of wires and the colors don't all match up. For the most part they do but some don't and it is very difficult to figure out which wires go where. I have downloaded the wiring color diagram for my car but am still having trouble figuring out which wires to use from the alarm (some aren't used at all) and which wires to connect to my car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Great site and forum BTW.

On the back of a  Viper 800 esp .   there  is wire director and it  tell you what and where to connect to . that is a lot of alarm for just a simple install . unless you are going to use those seven outputs  for the most part you are going to use  red-12v+, black-ground ,white-parking lamps , yellow-ignition , brown-siren,green-door trigger, blue trunk/hatch trigger,orange-ground w/ armed for starter disable ,plug in for your l.e.d., valet switch, green / blue for locks  which are neg and yes you do need to hook up the antenna which it attached permanently . and you are correct you will not use all the wires just cap off . and  the 1800-274-0200 number is on the back of your remotes if you need to go to your nearest Directed Electronics dealer  DIRECTED.COM

Good Luck !!

Thanks for your reply it helped out a lot and made the most sense of this whole thing so far. Just a couple of quick questions however if you're up for it. I have an excel file that I made up of the wiring from the viper box itself I could email it to you if you would like. I gave up on the instructions from the website (they don't match up).
1)Does the yellow go to the ignition #1, #2 or Accessory wire?
2)Since the unit has a built in starter kill relay, where does the orange (armed output) go from the main harness?
3)On the mini-molex connector the blue wire is for "Sensor 1 Input Warn Away/Trigger". Where would I connect this to?
4)On the mini-molex connector the green wire is for "Sensor 2 Input Warn Away Only". Where would I connect this to?
Since this has several timed outputs available, would it be possible to use one as a turbo timer?
It seems that the pager (DEI 795T) is giving me the most headaches. Perhaps I should just forego this feature for now.
Thanks in advance for all your help.

i dont know if you found out what those wires are (sorry i was on vacation , went bact to work )   orange is ground w./ armed usually used for starter disable  and the yellow is for ignition   if you dont have a prewired harness       YELLOW   goes to ignition as well as  86 on your relay (starter disable )   ORANGE   goes to the otherside which is 85  key side starter wire to 30    and the other side to 87a  which in the middle of relay   .......  sorry to get back to you sooner!

My alarm has a built in starter kill relay that's why I am confused. I connected the yellow to the ignition +12V and that seems to be ok. The orange I hooked up to the orange on the shock sensor. It is supposed to have a warn away and a trigger function. But so far all I get is the trigger. Does anyone know how to clear the memory in the viper and start programming from the factory default. I think this may be my next problem.
TIA,
Chris

No Dont do that !!    the shock sensor has its own harness... Disconnect please

i wish i could do it for you but i cant . Believe me i really would i know that alarm like i know my Dick.....   if  you figured the locks out you definatly can finish your install .

As for programming  You can go to a authorized Directed dealer and ask them  program w/  bitwriter  or pcinterface   (might be charges)Dont know if they want to keep you as a customer they would just do it for you... ( i would !! )  you should hve opted for a 300esp

oh and the Paging system (crap)  but if you are paranoid . like some of my tweeker customers that want to remove the onstar antenna so they cant be watched LOL lmao

I can tell you some stories  LOL !!!

Any way just threw that in for the laugh ...... the pager is simple   color for color    you dont need  brown, whites, violet, and connect the you are going to put a diode on orange wire  to the starter kill relay w/ the line facing toward the alarm...... and connect the gray wire to the green wire on the shock sensor ribbon cable    Have fun !!!!
