Go ahead n wire them both to the 12 volt ignition you shouldn't have any problems. I've been doing it like that for yrs with no problems. Only on some of the cars that have multiple ignition and accessory wires, i.e three ignition n three or more accessorys, then u should go to the battery.

Just to confirm and add reassurance to riceman advice. It will be just fine doing it that way.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.RS units with 2 power wires -- posted image.

If the manufacurer for the remote starts supplies two 12 volt constant wires there is a reason for it. Alot of cars out there draw alot of power.. here in Maine when it is 40 below, I am glad I hook up seperate power leads.. then I know I have followed my suppliers instruction to the letter.. that way any problems with the unit can be directed to them more because you have followed thier instructions.. Just my thoughts...thanks
