I install an AL-1000 in a 2003 Mitsui Lancer and I can't get the 2nd channel to pop the trunk. The manual says that when activated the gray wire will show a 250mV ground. With no wire attached to this wire it shows the ground, but when I hook up the trunk wire the ground goes away. Any HELP PLEASE

You need to use a relay to boost this ground output. Wire the relay if the Mitsui trunk reelase requires a (-) ground to open the trunk:

  • NEGATIVE INPUT----> NEGATIVE OUTPUT
    • 87 - Chassis ground
    • 86 - constant 12 volts +
    • 30 - GROUND output
    • 85 - low current ground input wire from a device
    • 87a - NOT USED
  • Use this diagram if the Mitsui requires a (+) trigger to open:

    NEGATIVE INPUT ----> POSITIVE OUTPUT

    • 87 & 86 - 12 volts +
    • 30 - 12 volts OUTPUT
    • 85 - Ground INPUT
    • 87a - NOT USED

    Thanks again Jeff but this time the unit was no good. There was no output on the gray wire at all when I put a load on it. I contacted Excalibur and they told me to bring it to my vendor. My vendor tested it and gave me a new unit. Thanks for your help
