Hi guys , just wondering  I am wiring up door locks on an 04 Grand Am single wire system and was wondering to isolate the lock and unlock wires  do I  need relays? I am sure I wired up a chrysler single-wire system with resistors and one way diodes and it was fine.It just seems easier than running all the wires for two relays .Is it ok to do this?

Thanks  ,Bruce

This car work just like the chrysler.....NEG(-) pulse thru resistors.

Lock is solid ground, unlock is ground thru 500ohm resistor.

NO relays or diodes

you will need to use a relay for the doorlocks just becuase unless the alarm has built in door lock relays the ground pulse throgh from the brain is not strong enought to go through the resistors

PONTIAC, GRAND AM, 2004, Power Lock
Lock is straight negative trigger. Unlock is negative trigger thru a 1.5K (1500) ohm resistor. MUST use relays. MUST close doors to lock with a single pulse.
The BCM (Body Control Module) is between the blower motor and the passenger side kick panel.
Power Lock white   -   lt. gry plug, pin A2 @ BCM
Power Unlock same wire as power lock
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.relays needed or will diodes work? -- posted image.
