When installing the shock sensor to the factory alarm, is it neccessary to use diodes?

I have a 2004 Acura TL. The shock sensor i'm getting is the DEI dual stage.

you can wire the shock sensor to a relay to trigger the door circuit that will trip the factory alarm. easiest way is use an ignition wire with a diode to serve as the ground for the shock sensor, that way the shock sensor will only me grounded and working when the vehicle is turned off. little trick i learned back in the day

I was thinking of using a relay so that the shock sensor will only be on when the ignition is off. With the shock sensor connected to a constant +12v, it will be working when the car is on. When the car hit any bumps the LED will light up.

Will a SPDT 20/30 amp relay work?

the ignition wire will rest at ground for the shock when the car is off.

hook up power from the shocker to +12

hook up ground from the shocker to switched ignition (just make sure it measures b- when the car is shut off, and your done.

ive done it, it works.

So I don't need a relay?

Basically, I would connect the constant +12v wire from the shock sensor to the constant +12v wire, the ground wire from the shock sensor to the switched ignition wire?

What do you reccommend I use to measure?

digital volt meter

it should be BLACK / YELLOW at the ignition harness
