I just had a Viper 791XV installed. I had purchased a PaceEdwards remote tunneal cover. I wanted something that would allow me to combine the remote with one remote that would cover the tunneal cover as well as things like remote start, keyless entry. I went to a local shop and ended up getting the Viper 791XV. The truck was at the shop from 8:00am till 7:00pm. I wasn't too happy when they told me they were not able to get the tunneal cover to work. Something about the cover requires full time power. They mentioned something about a motor that would burn up do to the fact when the cover opened or closed it would continue to operate in the open or closed position causing problems on the motor down the road. Anyone out there have this issue? Did I make a wise choice picking the Viper 791XV? The shop has asked me to bring the truck back after they contact Pace Edwards. What are your thoughts? Thanks...

Well, depending on how the toneau covers motor is set up to work, it may damage iit.  I am not very familiar with that type of cover, but if the motor stays engaged by the 791xv, it may burn up, but I know that the cover has a module that governs that, so it may just be a matter of getting a install manual for the cover and actually interfacing it into the module for the cover.  Try to get the manua first and then take it to the shop to have it finished.  Just a warning that you hay have to purchase extra parts, like the two way window module if nothing else.

Thanks for the reply.. I believe I paid for the module needed to connect the viper to the tunneal cover, but they were not able to figure it out. I will contact Pace Edwards directly and see I can get some installation info. I know they called Viper, but Viper refused to advise on a product they were not familiar with. I can do the following... remote start, front windows one touch open/close with opening from the remote and hopefully the tunneal cover soon. Thanks again...

you need to have 2 pulse timers to get it to work...

1 for open

1 for close

2 seperate outputs of the alarm...
