this is for a 2000 honda civic. i know there's an ignition accessory wire. for my car it's WHITE/ black (big 10 gauge wire). my question is, is there another accessory wire that I can tap into? one that is 18 gauge or so. where can I find it? what color would it be?

Why??? Trying to lock yourself out? How would finding this wire help you do what you are doing?

i'm installing a turbo timer. the viper alarm i have won't arm itself when the car's still running. i've heard of people hooking up the alarm's 12v to the accessory wire to make the alarm think the car is off.
basically, i don't want to wait 1 minute for the car to turn off and then arm the alarm. i want to arm the alarm when the car's still running. because if i have to wait for a minute and arm the alarm, that beat the purpose of buying the turbo timer in the first place. i could've just waited and arm arm my car manually. 2000 civic accessory wire, how many are there? -- posted image.

It's late so maybe I am missing something. If you are going to hook the alarms 12v to the accessory wire then how is the alarm supposed to stay armed if it has no power?

OK, here we go. You need to put a relay in line on the ignition wire comming off the viper alarm. Its a yellow wire. What you need to do is find a wire on the turbo timer that shows either 12 volts or ground only when the turbo timer is running, then when it turns off it switches polarity. What you would do then is essentially wire a starter kill relay on the ignition line and use the wire off the turbo timer to trigger the relay. That way when you get out of the car and the turbo timer is running the motor the alarm doesnt see 12 volts on the ignition line so it thinks the car is off and will let you arm the vehicle. Then when the car turns off the ignition line is essentially reconnected using the relay and the alarm will now funtion properly. The wire off the turbo timer must only show voltage or ground when the timer is activated and not just when the car is on because then you will never be able to reset the alarm codes. Also the shock sensor may prove to be an issre if the sensitivitly is set to high because the vibration from the motor could cause it to false. This can be defeated in two ways. Either turning the sensor down or putting a relay on the power line to the shock sensor and hooking it up to the same trigger wire as the other relay. That way the shock sensor will not be powered up until the car is turned off. Its complicated to write this out but not that hard to actually do. Good luck
