2005 Pontiac Wave / Chev Aveo

Hey all,

Just did a remote start install on a 2005 Pontiac Wave (Identical to the 2004/2005 Chevrolet Aveo). All went well but cannot find the factory alarm rearm wire. Found the disarm wire no problem in the remote keyless entry module under the center console (dk. blue wire). The printout I used was for a 2004 Chev Aveo and it only listed the disarm wire, not rearm. I've even tried contacting DEI tech support and they cannot offer any advice.

Has anyone done a similar vehicle or shed some light?

This is what I was worried about. Because the keyless remote is built into the head of the key. And the remote start disarms the stock alarm during remote start but does not rearm when it shuts down.

The stock alarm and door locks are separate so the lock/unlock feature on her DEI remote is pretty much useless. So she'll have to use the stock keyfob & DEI remote together... what a pain in the a$$.

Oh well.

Yeah I just installed a remote start. The vehicle comes with a stock alarm and I thought I would be able to interface the DEI remote with the stock alarm but all I can do is disarm the stock alarm... not rearm it.

Hence the reason I was saying that her DEI remote is only good for remote starting, not locking (because it will lock the door and enable the starter kill but not arm the stock alarm).

Make sense?
