encountered my first "knee blocker" (thats what dodge calls it!)airbag on a 2005 dodge caraven the other day, luckily i could access the ignition harness without unplugging anything. Is it safe to unplug any future "knee blocker" airbags that might be in the way of installing a remote starter?

My company won't do alarms in any vehicle with knee airbags.

I remove them and plug them back in when I'm done. (not disconnecting the battery at any point) A lot of guys leave them plugged in and just let them hang off to the side. If you set the airbag light on most cars I've encountered either reset after plugging it back in, or will reset with a battery disconnect. If you want to be safe remove the bag, tap all your wires WITHOUT turning the ignition on, properly replace the airbag, then test all your wires at the module. Basically when you have the bag unplugged and turn the ignition on is when it's gonna set a code. Don't turn the ignition on with the bag unplugged and you should be set.
