I want to know where is the good website to buy brand new alarm for reasonable price. Just now I'm looking for brand new Clifford AG5 and AG4. Browsing about e-bay site,"Car Alarms" category in "eBay Motors", but I can't find them out. Where and how does everyboy get the alarm? Are there other nice website to get the DEI's alarms and security parts product for low-price? Thanks.

You can get them off ebay or go to any car security store and purchase one.

Thanks, Autoobsession and bobk.

So officially, I Won't be able to get the brand-new DEI alarm unit by way of DEI dealer. Talking about self responsibility, I can buy it from car alarm store(whitch is not DEI dealer) without warranty.

I'm do-it-yourselfer about car alarm in Japan. Enjoy installing more than using, just as my hobby for my own cars. I already have had old Viper300, 550HF, 550ESP and Alpine SEC8028. Recently I happen to know this 12volt.com site and got impressed. Then I found the another great techinology of alarm, Clifford G5. It is the best system I've ever heard. Feature about low battery start, blackjax, auto immobilization, plainview2 switch ...cool! And furthermore, I'm so interested in Cliffnet. I really want to install and have it to my car.

I'm researching to buy the unit itself from the website for low-price. Many of do-it-yourselfer on this site buy from ebay? Any other nice way to get internationally?

Personally I wouldn't buy any type of electronics from fleabay, or online for that matter. But in your situation, being in Japan, if you can't find these locally there really is no other choice. Oh and blackjax isn't all that cool.

I'd just find someone who works at a authorized DEI dealer that sells Clifford alarms.  That's what I did.  Got my Avantguard 5 and installed it myself.  Didn't need DEI's tech support and I'm not that concerned about lifetime warranty.  Those are the things that you give up to install it yourself and save $500 or more on the install.  I hid my alarm brain much better than a paid installer would have and soldered every connection or extention in the car.  Try getting that from a professional installer for less than $500.

I highly recommend buying a Clifford or Viper (over the counter) from ebay, or better yet, get a new one from a DEI reseller that is willing to sell to you.  They ARE out there, you just have to look and ask.

Then, just do the installation yourself.  If you take your time and plan it out, everything will go smooth.

Good luck!

Thanks, auex and bret.

DEI's official reseller are also exists in Japan. When buying Avantguard5 and asking them installation, for example, they charge approx $3000!!! I can't afford even though they guarantee the unit. And they never sell the unit itself. About installation view, I'm completely agree with bret. I'm not a professional but I think It's on my way to put and hide the brain and wires, making few kinds of trick on them. My 11years old Viper300 works well now. I'm not also concerned about lifetime warranty afer all.

Viper, Codealarm, Autopage, Crimestopper, and so on... I thought car alarms are all the same actually. But Clifford, this is incredible! Various kind of features make my mind worked up! I try to find on ebay more. It's the best and easy way to get.

Everybody in this site knows a lot. Please let me know some more. Is there other car alarm that RICH and VARIED features in? Like or more than Avantguard 5.
