I have a 98 Mazda Millenia and I am having a problem with the door locks and unlock.  I am using a Crimestopper 2016FM Alarm and Remote Start.  I know that my car is a single wire system and I have located the door trigger wire coming from the drivers side door (RED / black).  I have made the connections to this wire using all the information that I have available to me at no avail.  I took the lock wire from the alarm and connected it to a diode (supplied by Crimestopper) and to a 1K ohm resistor then to the door trigger wire.  Then I took the unlock wire from the alarm again using another diode and connected that to the same door trigger wire.  However, nothing worked.  I took the resitor out of the equation for the lock and just used the diode and the lock feature worked fine.  I have tried every possible combination using the diode and resistor as far as using one or the other and I can not get the unlock feature to work.  Another problem I am having is with the Valet/Programing button.  This button does not work at all.  Valet mode works when you turn it on/off from the remote, however, the button does not work.  I replaced the button with a new one and it still does nothing.

Any help on either of these topics would be appreciated.  I am getting to the point where I think it might be the alarm module itself.  98 Mazda Millenia, Crimestopper 2016FM -- posted image.

With OEM Keyless Entry, Door Locks Can Be Done As A Negative Pulse System At The Central Processing Unit On Back Of Fuse/Junction Block In Driver Kick Panel. LOCK - GREEN / WHITE, UNLOCK Driver - RED / YELLOW, UNLOCK All - BROWN ....Diode Isolation Needed On The Unlock Wires.

Cathode (Band) Side Of Diodes Must Face Alarm Module, Anode (Non-Banded) Side Faces OEM Unlock Wires...........

RED / BLACK Wire Requires Chassis Ground To Unlock And Chassis Ground Thru A 1K Ohm Resistor To Lock Doors.........
U may not have a Strong ground from 2016........Relays may be needed.
Did you try grounding a wire and touching it to the Resistor / wire?

More questions...the weather has finally gotten better and I was working on the alarm again...I tried to find the central processing unit but was unsuccesfull...there were only two plugs coming off the back of the fuse/ junction box and non of them had the wire colors that were mentioned, so I went back to the RED / black wire...I ran the lock wire of the alarm through a 1K Ohm resistor and it still locks correctly...the unlock wire I connected to the same wire (RED / black) using a diode and it still did not work...so then I took a ground wire and touched the RED / black wire and it unlocked the doors...so therefore it works when it receives a ground to it...I checked all of the grounds from the alarm using a digital volt meter and they were fine...the alarm manual says that I may need to program the alarm to send a double negative pulse to unlock cars with factory keyless systems...I would try this but the valet/overide/program button still does not work...I have triple checked all the connections and also everything is connected correctly (to the right wire)...I put a digital multimeter on the red wire of the button and it is receiving a current...however, when I test the black wire, which I assume would be a ground wire, I am getting a resistance reading, however it is not ground (being 0.00)...so I then disconnected the ground from the button (valet)and connected a seperate ground wire to the button and it still will not work...shorth of thinking that I am doing something completely wrong or there is a problem with the alarm brain itself I can not figure it out...Any help would be appreciated....98 Mazda Millenia, Crimestopper 2016FM -- posted image.

I have 1998 Mazda Millenia.  I am looking for the factory hood pin wire.  I know that it has one because when you open the hod and physically lift it up the factory alarm goes off.  Any help with the color and location of this wire would be appreciated.  If it is in a connector the number of pins (example: 16 pin connector at fuse block) would help specify the location.  Thanks

I have a 1998 Mazda Millenia and I am confused in regards to the color of the accessory wire color.  In the install bay the color is shown as BLACK/ Red.  However, in other charts that I have found say that the accessory wire is Blue in the Ignition Harness.  The Black /Red wire is supposedly the Ignition 2 wire.  Can someone please clarify this confusion for me.  Thank You

Sure, it's refer to as testing your wires. Put the key in the cylinder and test.
ACCESSORY
This wire will test with the key switch in the accessory and run position, but never in the start position. Some cars do not have an accessory wire.
IGNITION
This wire will test with the key switch in the run AND start position, but never in the accessory position.
STARTER
Changes state only when the key switch is held in the start position. Interrupting this wire will keep the starter from engaging. Triggering the wire will spin the starter motor.
