I bought a 1994 GrandAm for my daughter 2 yrs ago and it had a alarm and remote starter. The alarm works fine but the remote starter was always a problem. We don't use the remote starter, but when the button is hit by mistake (sometimes) the car will not start. I get no power whatsoever? It goes completely dead. I have no idea what kind of alarm system it is or where it is located? I have two switches under the dash on the driver's side(one red, one black). The only other thing is on the remote it has two buttons and it says PRIME on the little black remote on the keyring. All I want to do is dissconnect the whole system. Any suggestions? I can email pics if anyone has any suggestions for me? PLEASE HELP ME AND MY DAUGHTER>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ken.........

The red switch is usually a kill switch for the remote starter, the black is the valet for the alarm. If you email me a picture from under the dash, I may be able to point out the alarm, or at least some wiring that will lead you to it. Send me a pm for my email.

This sounds like a Prime Start system. If you wish to remove it you can cut off all the wires on the main harness and make sure that the starter wire is not wired into a starter disable ( the starter wire is YELLOW ) and if it is, you will need to reconnect the starter wire by disconnecting it from the relays and soldering the wires together.
