I did a r/s on this 1999 ford winstar. Everything works great. The problem is the ford alarm. It has triggered on the customer twice since the r/s was installed. I looked at it today and opened the windows and locked the doors.. came back awhile later and manually unlocked the door and opened it. The alarm sounded. In remote start I did the same thing..the alarm did not sound,so I know my disarm wire is working. My question is why would it go off all of a sudden...it has never before the r/s.. I would like to know how to make it so you need to arm the system manually instead of passively.. I think that would do the trick. Any thoughts?????

I am guessing you did keyless too? Is the customer locking the doors manually (with the switch in the van)then trying to unlock them will the aftermarket keyless if so this could set of the alarm. that might be the problem. just a guess?? Did the factory alarm go off when it was remote started or just when they came up to open the doors with out it remote started?
