I have been recently looking at purchasing an alarm for my vehicle.  I have had an alarm before, which did not deter the thieves from stealing what I had, but I am trying to go the route of the LCD remote so that I can see when something is happening and at least make an effort to run out and catch it before the next morning.

The local shop where I usually go carries Python, which after some reasearch I have found is made by Directed, who also makes Viper and many others.  They say that their alarms are good, however, any shop is going to say that about their own product.  I am looking for your guys input.  I travel to many places, so finding a dealer should not be too much of a problem here.

I am looking for a alarm and remote start with the LCD or some type of indicator that will let me know it is going off without hearing the siren.  I would also like to have it be able to roll my windows down, but that is a luxury, not something I "need/have" to have.

Can you guys give me some ideas, brands, or any other information to help me out.  The last alarm + remote start I had was an Audiovox, purcahsed and installed through Circuit City and I was very unhappy with it (they told me it was a great alarm) and I do not want to make that mistake again.

Are Python, Clifford, Viper all the same or are there different quality levels between the few.
