well some one asked me to post this up so here it goes

start the car with the key then...

1 find the white wire at the column as well as a white black (there are only 4 wires there so it should be easy to find) the plug is green on the cobalt.

2cut the white wire and strip back a lil on both sides also strip away some insulation on the black white (reference ground)

4 set your meter to ohms and put one lead on the key side of the white wire and the other lead on the black white. now as you have the meter on these two wires turn the key to the crank postion and read the resistance. now find a resistor of that value.

now here is the hard part i am going to try and explain how to wire the relays.... you need two relays, a resistor   here it goes...

12v start output from remote start (r/s) goes to pin 85

negative when remote start goes to pin 86

one side of the resistor goes to the black white wire and the other side goes to pin 87

pin 87 a goes to the white black as well (do not  put this directly to pin 87 it must not pass thru the resistor )

pin 30 goes to pin 87 of the other relay

pin 87a goes to key side of the white wire

pin 30 goes to other side of the white wire

pin 85 goes to ground when remote started .

i was also asked to post how to use a 555L on a cobalt  hook up the 12v, chassis ground, and ign. wires just like normal and the r/s ground when running as well.  cut the white wire and yellow from the 55L goes to key side and yellow black goes to the opposite.  the cobalt only has one ignition wire, so you should have a spare ingition 12v output wire.... you are going to need it.    start teh car and keep the key in the crank postiion for 10 seconds. the unit has now learned the resistance. remember teh extra ign out put i mentioned? tkae the ignition wire fromm the 555L   and put it to the the second ign out put wire.  to help clarify.... the 555L will only see ign when it is remote started. if you leave it connected to the vehicles ign wire it will only work two or three times then you will have to relearn it . so make sure you learn the module with it on the vehicles ign wire and then change it to the remote starts second ignition wire. well hope this help  everyone out. and sorry to the moderators if i posted it up in the wrong section
