Hi,
I have a 5 wire cental-locking kit which I am fitting myself.
The wire colours are BLUE, GREEN, BLACK, BROWN AND WHITE.
I know that you connect the White and the Brown to the alarm outputs for lock/unlock.
What I am trying to do is put a button on my dash to lock/unlock the locks from inside. Could anyone tell me what wires I need to connect to the momentary button switch on the dash?
Many thanks,

same ones for the alarm central locking its more than likely a negative switch so you'll be grounding the lock and unlock wires throught a switch.. will you have 1 button for lock and one for unlock or what kind of switch do you have.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I have a simple push-to-make non-latching switch.
I know that if you move the door lock pin up or down on the drivers side you get the lock and unlock effect.
I just want to get the same effect from a switch on the dash panel. Just like some new cars have a lock button near the electric window switches, e.g VW golf etc.
Hope that helps thanks,

i know what you wanna do.. if you use a push button to open you will have to use another one to close. unless you can find a switch with two sides.
like the golf you press one end of the switch to lock and the other end to unlock..
do you understand how the switch will work.

if its a central locking you dotn need a button, just use the manurl lock and it look and unlock the doors, does your system come with a control box, if it does then that will do what you want to do, no need for a button/switch

So I need to get either 2 buttons or a two way momentary rocker switch?
Is it the case that I take the black wire assuming it's the ground as the common on the switch.
Then 1 connection to the brown locking wire and 1 to the white for unlocking. With one wire going to each pole on the switch?
Thanks,

yes thats it..
when i wanna test if i have the right wire i take a length of wire tap into the suspected lock and unlock wires.   they touch the other end off a chassis ground. if the central locking closes or opens hurray..
Now here is a problem that i had with a spal central locking kit when using the alarm with. i tapped into the lock and unlock wires and nothing worked.. so then i cut them and put the alarm to the brain side of where i cut and presto...   not 100% sure why this happened.   i reckon if you put a diode in the lineon the solenoid side of where you tap into the lock unlock wires this problem can be eliminated...
on my car everything workied fine but because i cut the wires for the pagganger side to control the locking with the alarm. i lost the passanger side actuation..   i.e. when i locked the door by pushing the pin the other doors wouldn't close.. so only the drivers side controlled all the doors..   and the alarm controlled all the doors
