As the subject says. This is what I did:
The alarm installer didn't do a clean installation, so cable was a little messy and pretty much visible when I crouch trying to pop up the hood. It made my hands a little itchy whenever . So one day I decided to tidy up all the cables and have the brain unit secured (it was left overhanging secured only with cable tie). So I disconnected all the cables from the brain unit and finally got a good place to secure the unit. However when I tried testing it, it has this clicking sound in the brain unit and the remote doesn't respond anymore to the system.
The question I want to ask, is it possible that I somewhat short circuit the brain unit? What's the usual step of installing the whole system, e.g. which cables to plug in first or what kind of steps I've to do before I plug the cables into the brain? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

with most alarms... it is normal. It is the relays (switches) making and breaking contact

sounds like that you need a new ground, try finding the black wire and reground it to a new ground and this should solve the clocking sound.
