Hey,out there in electronics land:

Do you know if you need to have power locks for the commando CMD-9000 to work correctly, without having to unlock the doors manually.  I haven't actually had the frame shaved yet, but I want to know if it works.  Need help!!!!!

Power locks are not necessary if you are shaving the door handles off. You can not get into the car with shaved door handles so there's really no need for locks unless you want the added security. The only problem is that you need to have the doors unlock prior to the door pop prompt.

When I did my shaved door handle mod, I simply gutted the door. Leaving of course the window stuff. Just make sure and leave the part in the door that actually latches the door shut.  It should be right in the middle of the door and it connects to a C looking metal peice on the other side of your door. Your solinoids will take care of your doors opening for you. Don't worry about locking it.  Just a big headache trying to wire it all together. I have had my shaved doors for about 1 year now and have had no problems with them and no one has broken into my ride.  How many criminals are going to take the time to try and get into a car if it doesn't have a door handle for them to open.  They would look kind of stupid crawling through a car door now wouldn't they.

Thanks for the word to the wise. I ordered the solenoids and should be getting them soon.
