I'm in process of turning an old personal car into a shop demo. It's a Toy MR2, 87'. I've purchased the factory window motors and regulators. I am putting in an avant4. The upgrade from manual to power is essential for me, but I'm having trouble with the wiring.

-Avantguard comes with 2 windows up/down

-Would like a physical switch on each door.

-How do I interract aavant outputs/ switches/ motor

Thanks

PS do not the factory power window wiring, must make my own...

Easiest way would be to go get the switches and harnessess off another one in a junkyard. If thats not possible, you'll have to at least get switches from somewhere, even if you end up getting aftermarket switches. If you get the factory harnesses, get all wiring inside the door and you can just cut it at the doorjamb boot. It should be like 4 wires. I'm not too familiar with toyota wiring, but I've done this conversion on several GM cars and trucks. The harness has a ground(which I grounded inside the door), a power(which I wired to ign),two wires to the motor, and three wires which you have to extend to the passenger door harness. Those three are 12v power, window up and window down. Those three go to the switch in the passenger door. The wiring from the switch goes to the motor.

I did two trucks like this and a few cars. Both trucks were old work trucks that the owners were restoring and had new doors with power accesories in them, I wired it all up to the truck. Power locks, power windows, and power mirrors, I think the mirrors were the hardest.
