The system is avistart 3300, by DEI.
It was working fine but recently when the car is remote started, it starts up, then stops in about half a minute, starts up again and stops.
COuld it be a bad computer for the starter or an inaccurate reading getting from the car engine ?

Yes, it could.
Could also be a loose connection, on the tach or one of the ignition wires.
However, the fact that it actually lasts for 1/2 a minute, and then tries starting again, suggests the brain is bad....

You will have to get the install manual and look up 2 features.  The engine monitoring feature, which should be switched to voltage and engine crank time.  The setting on the crank time depends on the car itself.

is there any benefit of the tach less versus with tach ?
no wires were changed. it just started happening one day. initially it would stop right after remote starting, and the second time it would re-start and work fine.
now it keeps stopping and restarting...

my understanding is that tach-less means, it will keep trying on your starter motor, and will kill it ultimately, unless you stop it manualy, am i right?
