Hi all,

Am wrapping up a Python 1600XP install, unfortunately I am having  a problem getting the heater/ac controls to work when the truck is on remote start.

555L worked well for me so far but this accessory issue is kicking my butt here.

I am observing that when I do a key take over the blower and radio will only come on when the brake pedal is depressed, even if I insert the key and turn it to on they do not work. It is as if the python is hanging the accessory up.

Has anyone hit this roadblock on this or the similar vehicles, canyon ion and can offer any suggestion to resolve?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Joe

I am not familiar with the 555L, but the problem is that the Passlock II system hasn't been interfaced with properly. The bypass isn't sending the Passlock voltage to the car's computer correctly. Review the instructions for your module for this vehicle. It is the same as a Saturn ION or Chevy Cobalt for the Passlock interface. The data wire is WHITE/ blue that needs to be cut. Hopefully this is of some help.

Sparky,

Thanks you got the wheels turnin, it is the wht/blu wire and I did interface the passlock properly, well almost. what I discovered is that the 555L doesnt seem to drop out of the circuit because when I pull the fuse from it the radio and blower come on. I find this puzzling though cause I did try cutting the neg remote start status wire to the 555L with no joy.

So my plan is to figure out a way power up the 555L on start and drop it out on run and I think I'll be in business. I am going to try the starter lead to from my relay module as its not being used in this truck.

Ah yes Generous Motors, the simpler they try to make it the more complicated is becomes.

OK you know its nuts when I reply teice to my own post but want to pass this on to help others in a similar situation.

Got the Colorado remote starting well and accessiories working OK on the 555L piece.

End result was interrupt the wht/ blue data with the yell. and yell/blk from the 555L as per directed document 1610 (Saturn Ion) same as the Colorado.

The added twist to get the accessories working was to tie the constant lead from the 555L to the heavy purple from the relay sattelite. Doing this will put the 555 in line on crank and remove it after the truck starts. The passlock will not turn on the accessiories if it is seeing the 555L in the circuit for some reason. Not sure if this is an isolated case with my particular vehicle but if you run into this you may want to try the above.

Hope this helps,

Joe

glad someone figured it out....i did one and had the same prob so the other installer tried it and ended up popping a fuse causeing the vehicle to not start (or crank)  and on the dash it was saying brakes....abs fault.... in the end it took us like no time to get the remote starter out and take the vehicle back to the owner....once our blood pressures dropped back to normal after finding the problem 05 Colorado Remote Start Accessory Prob. -- posted image.
