I have a honda CRV I want to install a Audiovox APS996A alarm system, I was thinking of doing it myself but don't know what do, and i dont know i need

If anybody in houston, texas views this post that installs alarm systems. Is it possible that I could show me, or guide me on installing it.

That is alot to ask of someone in my opinion. Most ppl get paid $100-up to install those units.

Do you know how to use a DMM?

Do you know how to tap the wires correectly?

Do you understand how relays work?

Do you know how to test the tach wire?

Do you know that the installation is what makes the alarm?

If answering NO to most of these questions, I would suggest taking it to a pro.

You had the same question on a similar post. My advice is bring the unit to the place where you purchase the unit and I am pretty sure they will help you out there. If you bought the unit online, then go to a store that deals with that particular brand that you bought and they may be willing to install it for you. As for doing the install yourself I don't feel you can do it at this point. Why? It is the particular questions that you ask. In your case it doesn't seem to me that you have ask the right questions or provided me some evidence that you know what you are doing. I don't want to discourage you from trying, but it's a lot better to paid a bit and get the unit install properly. When it has been install professionally, then when you get home, open up the car and have a first hand look at how it was install. Learned. I am sure at that point you maybe able to ask the right questions on the next install you want to do yourself.
