2005 Tacoma Compustar 2WSS-A

Compustar 2WSS-A 2005 Toyota Tacoma Getting ready to install this alarm in my truck, but I've got a quick question before getting started. According to directwire there are 2 wires that can be used for the door locks. One is GREEN/ black (double pulse) on the drivers side, the other is a pink (single pulse) on the passenger side which unlocks all the doors. According to the manual: In order for this feature to operate, insaller must use the 2nd Unlock Wire. Isolate the drivers door motor from the rest of the other doors. That last part has me a little confused. So here's the question: If I tie the first unlock wire into the GREEN/ black wire and then tie the second unlock wire into the pink wire, will the drivers priority unlock function properly, or is there something else I have to do?

since you have a seperate wire for drivers door unlock it will be fine the way you want to hook it up

2005 TacomaCompustar 2WSS-AWondering if there is some sort of programming procedure you need to do when powering up the alarm for the first time? I tried doing what the book says for a new remote, off/on 5 times to get in learning mode, listen for a relay click, but I never get the click. Thought maybe the ignition sensing wire was not getting power so I checked it with the DMM and all is good. The brain is getting constant 12V and the light in shock sensor is going off and on so I know thats working too.Everying else on the truck is working normally. It starts and runs, all the door locks work like they should etc, so I'm figuring it's not anything to do with my connections. Only thing I can figure is that the remote and the alarm aren't communicating, and I have no idea how to check if they are. I'm really hoping I didnt get a defective unit becuase I spent all weekend putting the damn thing in. Anybody have some ideas???

try turn your key on and off 5 times even if you don't hear the relay put your battery in if that doesn't work do it again and then press button I. hope this helps

I finally figured it out after reading some older posts. Turns out I wasn't cycling the ignition on and off fast enough. So now I have another question. There's a 2-3 second lag between when a sensor is tripped and when the siren goes off. I'll open one of the doors while it's armed, the pager will go off right away, but the siren doesnt. Is this normal?
