Hi All  !!

I am installing an Essex KE-1601thouchpad keyless entry system on a 2005 Hummer H2.  I have read on this forum that the wires I need for the door lock/unlock are a white and light Blue wire in the right rear panel.  Only problem is this is a limo and the right rear panel is now over 200" away from where it used to be.  So needless to say I am less than excited about running wires the entire length of it.  Is there any wires i can tap intoin the drivers door or under the dash?

Also the KE-1601 puts out a 1/4 amp negitive output on lock/unlock would this even work with the white and light blue wires in the vehicle or would I need one of those GM modules for interfacing with the door locks?  Or is there something I can do with standard relays?

Thanks for any and all responces

P.S. if I do need one of theose GM door lock interfaces who makes the best ones on the market, or are they all about the same??

Thanks - Steve Walker - Steve@capriceshop.com

OK further research, looks like I need this item correct?:

GM Doorlock & Alarm Databus Interface Kit

GMDL4 - GMC Pick Up 03, Yukon Denali 03, etc

IS there a wiring diagram for this item online anywhere?  Where does it hook into?

Yes, you don't EVEN want to do the locks on this thing without a data bus interface. You would need to get into EACH door with 2 relays....these suck big without the module.

its the same thing as a DEI 457G This is the one to look at for wiring info

Thanks Kar Tune for another good responce.  Tell me this though, you recomended the GMDL -BP.  in comparing this to the GMDL-4 it semed to me the only diffrence was that the BP controlled the passlock features as well.  Am I correct in assuming you only need those if you are doing a remote start?   Would the GMDL-4 work for my limited application of locking / unlocking the doors and arming / unarming the factory alarm system?

Seems to me the BP is the latest version of this item, is it worth the extra money to get the latest and greatest version.  Or is the GMDL-4 at $40.00 less than the BP an acceptable route.  And I assume I can still get these GMDL-4's correct, I see them in the 12 volt store as in stock.

Thanks for the wiring diagram, looks like I will only be hooking up about 5 wires, cannot get any easier than that!!

Thanks Again for your input!!

The GMDL 4 is being phased out by Trilogix and may not work with the new '05 vehicles because of updated software in the Hummer's databus wire. The GMBP-DL will work for both remote start &  keyless entry interface, but if you want just the door lock interface use the MULTI-DL ( http://www.bypasskit.com/product.aspx?prodid=MULTIDL ) .

OK Thanks Jeff, yea the MultiDL was the one that was $40.00 diffrence from the GMDL-4, but yea may as well get the latest and greatest.

Thanks for the clarification!
