I've been looking around at alarms for a long time, and I'm finding it very hard to find a way to buy what I'd like. I'm looking for a paging alarm system without all the extra remote start and such. Just the basic alarm features plus two way paging. I heard the Viper 900 is like this and Hornet makes one also. But I really can't find anywhere to buy them. I found one installer that wants a rediculous price for an alarm like this installed, and I'm not even sure at that price that it doesn't have all the remote start nonsense I don't want (car is MTX, won't work). So aside from asking local alarm shops, where can I go to buy an alarm system? I never imaginged just buying an alarm would be this hard, but for some reason the whole industry seems very reluctant to just sell alarms to people. The best I've been able to find is this... http://www.sonicelectrnix.com/item_1590.html Which is a good price, but again has too many extra features and is more complicated than what I'd like to deal with installing.

Thanks for the link, I hadn't heard of those alarms before. I was hoping to stick with something made by DEI because any alarm I buy I'll be adding a proximity sensor to since my car is a convertible, and I know DEI makes one that should work with their systems.

Compustar makes 2-way systems without the remote start. I'm installing a 2WSS in my truck this afternoon.

DEI.....they are NOT the world......open up you mind to a different way of thinking. Its ALL made over seas, it's all the same kinda stuff.

Check some of the post's here on this sight....most of the real problems come from do-it-your-selfers, or back yard guys , that use DEI product.     FACT!

I'm totally open to another brand of alarm, but I need one that I can get a proximity sensor for, that's all.
