I was trying to install a "directed electronics 561r valet system" in my mother-in-laws 88 cadillac seville yesterday and according to the instructions, I had everything hooked up right. the problem is that when I hit the button to start the car, the starter will turn over but the car wont start.  I am unsure how many ignition/accessary wires there are. It seems like there is more than one. is there any way to get a chart of which wires need to be hooked up to make the car start?  I don't think it has a VATS since the key looks like an aftermarket gm key. is there any other way to tell?

here is the way it is hooked up now,

pink to pink,  orange to orange, purple to yellow, the two reds to red.

there is a pink/white wire that is supposed to be used for the second ignition/accessary but I didn't hook it up to anything. I did notice that there was a heavy gauge brown wire in the ignition harness that gets 12v in the accessary position, but it didn't help when I temperarily hooked it up to the pink/white wire.

there are also some smaller wires in the ignition harness that I am unsure of, but they are also powered with the key on.

one thing I did notice is that it doesn't seem like the accessaries are coming on when I hit the button.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks for the info, I will give it a try.

just to clarify,  do I need to add a relay for each ignition wire to keep them isolated?

and by ignition that means the wire remains hot in the start and run position?

I hate to  sound ignorant, but this is the first time attempting a remote start.

YES............If your Remote Start does NOT have Ignition 2, 3, & 4, you will need Relays for each.
