I am in proess of installing the valet 562t in 95 camry.. i installed most of the things just Horn is not working.
When i unlock or lock the car the parking lights goes off my no sound.
i Plug the brown wire from the brian to the GREEN/ black wire at steering wheel colum harness. i double check with 3 different sites and they all say that GREEN/ black is the horn negative wire.
the default setting is the chirps is on so i am guess that it is not in silent mode.
Does anyone know why it is not working?

test the wire. make sure it reads ground when you honk the horn. make sure the brown wire is pulsing not constant also.

I still have trouble ppl hooking up wires without testing. What if you accidently hooked up to a PATS wire or a gauge cluster wire and shorted it out. You would not be very happy with the $1000 fix.
Sometimes DIY sites are good, but not if ppl are just blindly using the information without actually knowing what they are doing at all. Hooking wires blindly to wires that some websites list is just asking for trouble. Maybe not the majority of the time, but it will happen.
I have seen posts.... I didn't hook up the white 2nd IGN on my chevy truck and my tranny went out....
It says the black wire at the BCM for park lights.... so I cut the 6 black wires until my park lights didn't come on anymore and knew it was the wire.... now my gauges don't work and air bag lights are on all the time.
It said the orange wire in my Olds Cutlass Ciera.... I tapped the orange wire in the white sheathing (there was orange and white) and now my car won't start.
It said my starter was the yellow or purple wire... i didn't see a yellow, but I saw a thick yellow sheathing and cut it.... My air bags deployed.

Wat if i get the wire from the horn in the hood and use that, if it is postive i will use the relay shown in the manual and if negative i will just connect that with brown wire from the brian
does anyone know war polraity is the wire. there is only is 1 wire.

oasis475, i think that is what mobile and ohio is trying to explain to you. you will have to test it out with a mulitmeter to see how the polarity changes when the horn is hit. if it drops down to 0 then its neg. if it jumps up to 12v then its pos. but most importantly, you must test all your wires out with a multimeter before you hook them up or you will eventually run into problems

ok i just checked it
my red pin of DMM is connected to the wire at the horn under the hood and the black pin of my DMM is connected to ground. So when i hit my horn my meter goes from 0v to around 12v.that means this is positive trigger..
then i checked my output out of the brian and it is negative trigger.. i have plug into the GREEN/ black wire in the steering coloum but it doesnt work.. so i am going to put a relay and change the in to positive trigger and attach to the wire from the horn under the hood...
Anyone know how to use relay in this case?
thanks alot for you repsones..

ok after testing the wires with Dmm i plug the horn with relay
86 and 30 -- constant 12V
87--- Positive trigger into the horn under the hood
85-- negative brown wire from the brian
But my horn still DOESNT work.. i dont understand why
my brian give negative trigger output and horn takes positive trigger.
i am not using the green.black wire under the steering wheel because that is not a right wire and i dont want to mess anything up becuase i read some horrible stories on these posts
so anyone have any idea how to get my horn to working with my valet 562t
thanks
