In the starter interrupt group of wires on my compustar 2WSS-A one of them is listed as ignition input (positive). What does this need hooked up to, switched 12V? Is it to trigger the alarm if the ignition is turned on when the alarm is armed?

hook it up to igntion 1 in the car main (igntion harness).

the wire should be hooked up to the ignition wire in the car's harness coming off the key cylinder. This will be the wire that tests as +12V in both the run and start positions. In non-remote start applications it is used simply as an input wire for the alarm, usually used for programming and for extra features such as ignition controlled locking/unlocking.

Life moves pretty fast; if you don't stop and look around once in a while; you could miss it.

It's also used to tell the alarm that the vehicle is in use and doesn't auto re-arm the alarm while you drive down the street.

indeed. we had a post only last week with someone who. didn't hook it up and the alarm kept going off while he was driving
