Remote Start, 2000 Mitsubishi Galant

Hello,

I have installed the Audiovox Prestige  APS-996A into my 2000 Mitsubishi Galant.  Every thing is great except that the remote start  will only work if the key is in the ignition in the off position.  Without the key  the remote strart cranks the engine, but it will not start, and the factory installed security light flashes. Can someone please shed a little light on this for me.

You need the PKU-MIT or TBKIII bypass modules in order to bypass the Immobilizer system that the Mitsubishi's come with on the 2000 + Galants. The PKU-MIT is a keyless modules and the TBKIII is a key required kit. Here's some more inofmration on the Immobilizer system:

Is there a way to program ignition keys yourself
