I have a few questions regarding my Viper 791 XV. I have it installed and for the most part, everything basic seems to work with one exception, when the alarm is active and a door opened, it only triggers a first stage alert and not a full alert with lights and sirens. I read the tshoot section of the install guide but it didn't help me track it down.

What is the purpose of the 2nd ignition wire? where would it be connected and what would happen if it is not used?

Is there a way of checking the anti grind without actually double starting the car and possibly grinding the starter?

On the Viper 791XV, how do I utilize the turbo timer?

The window module, DEI 530T, do you know where I can find a step by step method of integrating it into the 791XV?

Oh I wish Best Buy wasn't a subscriber of the "wrap n tape" method or I would have had them put it in!

Again...many thanks

What year 300 X is this ? The 2nd IGN wire is only used if the vehicle has a 2nd IGN wire to power up during remote start. The 300Z doesn't have a 2nd IGN wire so you can just wrap this wire up with tape and not use it. To test your anti grind circuit, just remote start the car and when you get into it and place the key into the ignition barrel and turn it to ON. Now quickly and lights turn it over to the start for a split second to see if you hear a slight grind. This will not damage the starter and if you did not install the disable relay properly it will grind.

To use the turbo timer go to page 29 of the owner's manual and it tells you how this feature is engaged and used. When you buy the 530T there will be instructions on how to install it to the DEI unit. Otherwise you can go here for instructions.

Velocity---thanks for the reply. I figured as much with the 2nd ignition wire and I did just as you said. I still don't have the nerve to test the anti grind but it didn't have a relay aside from that big relay box all the ignition wires went into. I wasn't sure if that is the relay you meant. I am off to read those two links. Thanks again
