Car: 2005 Chrysler 300
Alarm: Autopage RS-855LCD (using DEI 556CW immobilizer bypass)
Ok, so got my alarm installed today and am having problems with the remote start. Sometimes it will stay running and sometimes it will die after 3 seconds. I noticed that a lot of the time it will start twice in a row fine, then the 3rd time it will always die after 3 seconds. I have it programmed through the tach wire and everything seemes right. Any idea why this may be?
Also, the "chip" that is supposed to be up against the ring of the ignition cylinder.......is this used every time the car remote starts or is it only used when programming?

The ByPass is used everytime the RS is used.

ok thanks. Any idea why the engine shutts off though? According to the manual it has been successfully programmed....maybe the module itself is bad?

If it is irratic..........sometimes starts sometimes not, try repositioning ByPass and the wire that goes to it.  I have found that some cars ( just a few ) have RF interference with the lead that runs to the ByPass.  That may be the problem.
Also be sure the ByPass is ON under Crank & Run.

yea I tried repositioning the bypass chip and wire....some places will not work at all, and others will work a few times then stop working. I cant seem to find a place that works all the time. Anyone have any suggestions on where to place it in this car so it will always work? Do I need to maybe insulate the wire more to help with the RF interference? thanks for the help.

There is no BEST way..........Just in what is available and what is more popular.  You can still do a KEY / Ignition Switch wrap and it will work.

First of all, for good measure, double-check your second starter interface, making sure that the input to the relay is correct.  Secondly, before you accuse the immobilizer bypass, challenge the tach by programming the system for voltage sense instead.  Some vehicles have tach signals that are tough for certain remote start systems to read.

If it's dying after 3 seconds, it's because the fuel is getting cutoff. The problem is your immobilizer setup. It doesn't sound very reliable. If it shutsdwon after 3 seconds look at the dash. If the security/Antitheft light is flashing rapidly then the problem was caused by the bypass. if you can't tweak your setup just right then go with a manufactured bypass module like dare_ds69 said.
