When I purchased the Viper 160XV today, I was also sold a 555f interface module. My Ford Taurus ('97) does NOT have the keys with the chip in it, so is this required still? I have no factory security or keyless entry. I don't have any THEFT light that lights up upon startup or anything. Any ideas?
And just to clarify, if I do need this, I simplyu wrap the wire with the pellet thing on the end around the ignition cylinder by the keyhole?
thanks

Your vehicle does have PATS ( since 1996 ). The 555F will have the proper instructions for the installation of the spare key. You will need to loose one of your programmed keys to the car in order to remote start it properly.

Some Taurus Vehicles DO NOT have the PATS...........

If yours does NOT.....then you do NOT need the 555f
