I was wondering if anybody could help. I bought a Rover 214 1993 model about 2 months ago. The car runs fine until now. The car alarm goes off when i unlock the car and is immobilised so I can't start it. I have not got the remote fob just the keys. How can I disconnect the alarm so the car will start again. Please Help.

hi, you are not the only one with this problem rover alarm systems are notorious for theire systems breaking all the time,i have done a few before but i cant remember wire colours, i will try and have a look for them and let you know, the main control unit is right up in the dash on the drivers side, u canot unplug this due to that the central locking runs off it aswell, if you have the factory pin code for the alarm system u can disable it via a sequence with the door lock.

in the engine compartment there is a black box infront of the vehicles main relay box with about 5 exposed relays when the case is removed, u can press in the relays and the car should crank, find what one it is and run a seperate wire to control it from the ign switch, and then you will have to cut the wires on the alarm control unit that operates the horn relay otherwise it will constantly sound,

let me know how you get on, where in the uk are you if it aint too far i could come do it for you
