Is this possible? The optional ignition disable module allows remote ignition cut off in case of hijacking. Would I be able to use the signal that the brain sends to the module to fashion a remote start feature? This is the model Scorpio SR-i500 My Link Thanks in advance!remote start using ignition disable output -- posted image.

Not really feasible, because it wouldn't be able to monitor the engine run status the way the remote starters do; you would have to implement your own circuit for timing the start signal and have it stop cranking if it doesn't fire up.

What does fabricating this circuit involve?  Is the required tach signal just 12 volt steady?  Thanks for the reply

No post edit function? anyway I was wondering if piggyback or auxilary add on remote starters exist that only require a signal from the main alarm a couple posts down someone mentioned something to this effect in use on his saturn.

The tach is a pulsed signal that indicates the engine rpm, so the remote starter is able to determine if the car is running. Not that easy to duplicate the commercial ones with all the safeguards- Don't know if there are any add on remote starters, but maybe the easiest thing to do would be to get a new alarm with the remote start feature, and replace the existing one-
