You guys have always been a great help. Just wondering if anyone has put in a R/S & keyless on this SUV? The door locks look like they are going to be a pain because the drivers side is in the door and the passenger side is behind the glove box. Is there an eaiser way to grab the drivers wires. Also if any things strange I need to watch for will be a great help. Well I think thats it. Everything seems to be self explanitory.

Thanks,

Jeremy

The 04/05 has 2nd Starter as well as 2nd ignition so you will need to add a relay to one of these . Most RS's have a designated 2nd output relay built into the CPU. The door locks are the only real pain with the child safety feature on it.

The driver side wires are at the driver door module in the door. They are: lock - green in pin 4, unlock - yellow in pin 14, and lock detection - brown in pin 16. The passenger side wires are at the BECU behind the glove box, 2nd plug down from the top. They are: lock - purple in pin 8, unlock - lt. blue in pin 13, and lock detection - brown in pin 11.

TOYDL Data Bus Interface: Controls Lock/Unlock, Trunk, OEM Security Arm/Disarm, Panic via databus wire.

Highlander aren't the hardest or easiest Toyotas. I actually prefer doing the 2004-2005 over the older ones.
You should only have to go to three of four locations on that car; it is easy to do a neat job.
If you prepare your remote starter so that the main ignition wires are about 1 or 1 1/2 feet long, there is a perfect spot to tuck the brain to the left of the fusebox, under the driver's AC outlet.
I haven't tried the Toyota doorlock databus modules. I work on commission; I'd rather wire up the locks myself and keep more labor money for me.
Here's a link to a write-up I did, with ways to make the doorlocks easier:
