I have installed a Viper 791XV into a 2005 Chevy Cobalt and used a 555LW for the immobilizer bypass. I have connected the 555LW per the 1610 DEI Directechs document. The problem I am having is that the security/theft light stays lit up on the dash while driving and sometimes the vehicle will not start with the key only the remote start. It is hit or miss. Sometimes it will sometimes it wont but it will always start with the remote start. Has anyone run into a problem like this with a Cobalt or Ion Colorado or Canyon?

double check the ignition wires and the accessory wires they may be reversed.
MECP certified (If it really means anything)

I would suggest switching to either the 556LW (new version of the 555L) or the PLXR. The original 555L doesen't work too well on the latest version of Passlock (found on the Canyon, Colorado, Cobalt, and Pursuit).
