Hello I need the assistance of some experts here! What I have is a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon bone stock except an aftermarket car alarm avitial model .4 months ago my blower switch fail ( switch and the plug in and about 2 inches of wire MELTED in to one ) dealer repair it so I was told last week it started all over again the switch fail completely this time the dealer order a new harness and switch. Repairs where made and they ( dealer ) blames the car alarm for this problem. The alarm was install by a top shop here in Toronto and I know that it was NOT there install that cause this!! What are your ideas on this matter: NO FUSE BLOWN? I think it’s the wires are under size or the switch is under rated

You could be correct.There is too much current going thru the wires,and they are melting them..For giggles,i would just have ur shop double check,just to make sure..

Disconnect the alarm and then have them fix the harness and switch. If it happens again then you know it's not the alarm.

I will have the dealer replace the switch and harness THEN I will remove the fuse and place in a amp meter to see what load this blower is pulling and check the back of the switch with a laser temp probe to see if it heats up . There is no way in heck that a alarm will draw this much current to melt a switch and connector.

You need to find someone that subscribes to ALLDATA, and get your self a copy of the TSB's (technical service bulletins) to see if this is an often occouring problem. Sounds like a hyundai problem to me. I logged on to alldata and they had a list a MILE long. But I could not view them, they want cash for the privalige....

Dealerships love to blame aftermarket stuff when they get confused.

If they cannot clearly state WHY and HOW the alarm caused the problem, they don't know what they're talking about.
