2001 grand marquis

I am in the middle of doing a 2001 mercury grand marquis. Everything was working great.. then when connecting the trunk release from the remote start, a fuse popped. it was the pats fuse. I replaces it, now the car will not start even with the key. The fuel pump doesnt sound like it is starting.. Also the security light flasshes real fast. I disconnected the remote and pkf1 but still the same. I did notice if I leave the key on for a bit, the light will flash one time then six times.. and continue like that.. I have tried leaving the key on for a bit..and also unhooking the battery.. Any ideas????? I need to get this car back..thanks

check fuses 4,7 , and 8.  there amprage ratings are  15a , 25a ,15a. from the flashes if  read right the module is not noticing the pats key. do you have a scan tool? do you have another key? try it. the eaziest way to under stand the problem is pulling the codes out of that module via scan tool. i would double and tripple check all your wiring make sure they are all correct.JUST ONE MORE AMP!!!

O.K. I put the scan tool on and got three codes. All cleared. Everytime I try to start the vehicle this code keeps comming in... u1262 scp data fault for j1850 bus.  The car will not start still..no fuel pump engaging and I try the second key.. no help there..  Any ideas now..thanks in advance

you have a communacation problem most likly caused from the install do rechack you connection and all connection should be solder. exspeacily for the pats system the is resistance vavlues and non solder joint cause a higher resistance value and messes up comminacation for the module and causes a sercurity issue. im trying to download the procedure check all connection this is a self induced problem.JUST ONE MORE AMP!!!

All of my connection are soldered.. The pkf-1 is not plugged in right now.. Like I said the vehicle was fine until trying to hook the trunk.. it is reverse polarity.. used the wire in the kick panel.. also robbered power there for the relay.. I screwed up the connection and that is when the pats fuse blew.. the constant power wire color was green red.... also I am using a snap-on scan tool.. if that helps

snap-on scanner is great thats what i use do you have trouble shoot for that code if so use it. the procedure on alldata tells me to repair a wire but what wire it doesnt say. alldata s*$#s. but does your car have keyless entry? you might of poped the drivers door module the trunk release is tied in to that. what relay did you get power from?im still searching alldata but need more infoJUST ONE MORE AMP!!!
