Anyone know how to hook up a remote starter to the defrost in a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado?
Also has anyone had any problems with the factory security going off with a Compustar installed?
I attached the disarm wire to the correct bcm wire, and verified that it pusles when unlocked/disarmed. It seems that is pulses to early and then it still sets off the factory security? Any adive?

i have never seen an original system  sound off on its own

okay , try this..use your unlock wire from the compustar on the disarm wire and program it to unlock before starting.

I think you should double check all your wires

there is no reason for the orginal alarm to sound off....sounds like the unit is not disarming the system

and forget about the defrost , no one hooks that up anyway.

Testing is the key

i hook up the defrost wire....so someone out there does....what i usually do is wire the defrost off of one of the extra channels and use it when i need....it is easy to figure out ....go to the defrost switch and determine if it is negitive trigger or positive.....if it is negitive wire up a relay for negitive trigger....if it is postive wire it 5wire to respect to switch and keep from burning it up.  also what color did u use for factory disarm?
Where theres is a wire there's a way.
