I spent like an hour trying to solve this problem on a 2000 Honda Civic last week.   I needed to run 4 wires from the driver door panel into the driver side kick panel area.  The only hole on the drivers door panel was a square and was occupied by the factory wiring connector.   Couldn't get a drill in there to add another hole,  so ended up disconnecting the factory wiring connector and forunately the center area of this multipin connector was not occupied with wiring so I drilled a whole there on both the male & female connector.   This worked fortunately,  but just wondering if there's an easier way when I come across the type of problem on other cars.

Hi Thinkster, that's the way do it. Just make sure you also run your wires through the existing loom/sheathing if any exist, if none exist, add it.

There is another way. You will have to take out one of the plastic clips that holds the door rubber on down the bottom of the door. drill the hole large enough to pass your wires through. cable tie them to the rubber seal and bring them up to the door loom. (That runs from the door to the car)  Then pop out the blinker lens in the front fender(side marker). Behind that is a grommet that comes in to car above the kick trim. Poke grommet in to car, push wires in and through hole that you have to make in grommet and replace grommet from the inside. Sounds complicated but is quite easy. I have done dozens this way.  Good luck.
