Unsure what to think of my installer

After looking through threads here and much valuable info. decided that putting in an alarm is not like wiring up an amp and got it done but a pro. Had the Code Alarm put in yesterday and noticed that the sencitivity needed to be adjusted. This was a brand new system off flea bay(Ca645-CA425 circuit city leftovers). Looked in my 03' Explorer and only found the users manual not the install manual which i beleive has adjustment info. Also wondered where the RF was which I thought was included with the system. So I called up the installer and asked where the RF was. His reply was,"the Rf is for installers only." So I replied,"oh so my system didn't come with an RF?" He replies,"no." He did say to bring it in so he can adjust it. Honestly I wouldn't mind tweaking it myself till its just right. Anybody think I'm getting my leg pulled here, installers are good guys but unsure what to think here? Anybody know if its regular practice not to give a customer these items? --The RF programmer is an optional item that some Code Alarm dealers might buy to make it easier to program the systems----but many shops to not buy those things---it isn't really that hard to just program it the regular way once you get the hang of it. --The shock sensor with that unit comes already set at maximum sensitivity, and the installer probably didn't know that. I have the same unit in my car, and I forgot to adjust the sensor when I installed it too! --The installer probably kept the installation manual for two reasons: A. If you come back for something to be reprogrammed, he'll have the manual in his toolbox----if it is left in the car, often the customer loses it, and if he's not a regular Code Alarm dealer, it's not like he has another manual lying around, and B. He's probably worried that the customer will go into programming, mess up a bunch of stuff, and he'll have to go back in there and re-program everything. At any rate, it's a minor error for him to forget to adjust the sensor, and I can understand why he'd keep the manual. (It's also possible he intended to put the manual back in the car after the install, but forgot.) But if you ask him for the manual, he should give it to you.

Those were my thoughts also but wasn't sure. I'll probably ask him for the install manual(user manual he couteously left on my passenger seat) and promise him I won't lose it. Just thought that the RF was in their because the install guide made it seem that way. Thanks.

Did the RF Programmer come with your stuff?? Not sure just opened the package enough to sneak out the install guide and realized that installing this thing would take me forever to get it right..

Now I'm regreting not installing in myself everyone here is so helpful. It would have been a nice 48hrs. of joy.
