Hi all,

First post. I have been looking through the boards info and diagrams etc., I still need some desperate help!.

Vehicle - 93 Chrysler LeBaron LX 3ltr 2-door convert (European model).

Alarm NEOCQ M932F (Don't worry about this, I have the diagram woked out, it is the car I'm stuck on)

Can anyone please help me to get the door locking and  turn signals sorted to work with the alarm (the alarm has all the right outputs).

I thought I had it all worked out, but the problems came when I discovered that there is a switched ground (-V) running through the drivers door lock which then goes off to the passenger door lock, so I can't just apply the +12V alarm output to the +12V door trigger wires (it creates a dead short). The turn signal problem is related (I think) to the fact that the LeBaron has 4 relays... one for each lamp that need to be engergised to allow the switched interupt signal to pass through.

I'm not trying to avoid getting this done professionally, I live in Spain and every specialist baulks when I say it's a LeBaron!. I have the official Chrysler workshop/wiring manuals, but I'm still stuck.

Any help greatly appreciated. If anyone knows where I can "buy" the information from a US concern that "knows" Lebaron's I would be grateful.

Many thanks for any replies.

Ken.

the locks should be a standard reverse polarity ( ORANGE / purple & pink/purple in the drivers kick, you'll need 2 relays) and the parking lights should be + BLACK / YELLOW at the light switch harness.....

Hello Kevin, thanks for the reply.

This is where I started too. Are you saying that I basically need to apply +12V switched from the alarm to the or/pu and pk/pu (the alarm has built in relayed outputs)?. If so, I tried this and at least the "lock" wire (or/pu) not sure about the "unlock" yet, is normally directly grounded through the drivers side switch... hence all that happens when doing this is a dead short!.

I'm trying to flash (alarm signalling) the turn indicator lights, not the parking lights.

Hope this message doesn't come up twice... the first one seemed not to post!!!

Anyway... eventually found the door lock wires behind the body computer in the right kick. I've run a couple of extension wires to a suitable relay position. Got to wait till the stores open on Monday before I can get the relays. Can anyone tell me what rating relays I should get... 10, 15, 20A ? The alarm instructions also say to fit a diode to each door lock signal wire, they state 1A diodes... are 1A heavy enough!?

I still can't work out how to get the turn signals to flash during arm/disarm. The alarm has left and right +12V outputs. Anyone have any ideas about this please.

Thanks, Ken.

Hi,

LOCK - ORANGE / violet - changing to ORANGE / black at motor connector

UNLOCK - pink/violet - changing to pink/black

Why do you ask, is that a problem?

Ken.

Just checking:

5 wire Reversal

2 SPDT RELAYS:

Cut LOCK  & UNLOCK Wire in Half.

One Half goes to SWITCH
One Half goes to ACTUATOR

Relay 1

LOCK:

PIN 87 =  12 Volts ( + ) Constant
PIN 87a =  wire from Door Lock Switch
PIN 30 =  wire to Lock side of Actuator
PIN 85 = Negative Lock Output from Alarm
PIN 86 = Constant 12 volt ( + )

Relay 2

UNLOCK:

PIN 87 =  12 Volts ( + ) Constant
PIN 87a =  wire from Door UnLock Switch
PIN 30 =  wire to UnLock side of Actuator
PIN 85 = Negative UnLock Output from Alarm
PIN 86 = Constant 12 volt ( + )
On your Parking Lights:
Youcan use 1 of the Outputs or hook both together

Parking LampBLACK / YELLOW(+) AT RELAY OR AT FUSE BOX

MO,

Thanks VERY much, all understood.

Can I still ask... should I get specific Amp rated relays 10A or whatever?. Also do you know why and if it is necessary to add diodes to the door lock signal output wires from the alarm, is so what value?

Reading through some of the other posts, I think that there is a little confusion with the turn signal/parking lights. Yes, I could flash the parking lamps (red rear/white front), but it is normal in Europe to flash the turn signals (all amber) for arm/disarm signalling. This is what I am trying to do... flash the turn signals. Can this be done on the LeBaron?.

Thanks again, Ken

20 Amp SPDT Relays
Diodes are not necessary
look into hooking in to the EMERGENCY Flasher wire....maybe at the switch
I don't have that info for that year........Maybe someone else can help on the Forum

MO, thanks again, you've been really helpfull.

I have been poking around with the emergency flasher, but Chrysler call it a "combo" unit and there is one other flasher/relay clicking "somewhere" (can't find it yet), all on top of the four individual relays I mentioned... It has me stumped, so I would appreciate if anyone else knows the solution.

Thanks, Ken.
