APS996a problems

I have got the aps9996a installed on my car and it's giving me some problems. The LCD remote seems to never want to work. I have to press it constantly many times before it works. Sometimes when i'm like 10 feet away from the car it still doesn't work. I mean the range on this thing sometimes just suck and sometime it's good. Also when i exit the car and enable the alarm...the hammer thingy flashes on the remote and i have to press that lock button couple of times before it goes away....Also is there anywayz for me to change it so that i just hold down the key button for the car to start and not have to press it twice and change the trunk release to the option button instead of holding down the key button. I have an 02 maxima if that helps. also nissan said to use the 555u what is i use the 556u is there a difference? thanks!!!

oh yeah also my car has the factory window rolldown when i hold the unlock button the the factory fob....sometimes when i unlock my car with the 2way remote my windows goes down too... wat could be the problem anyone knows??? Thanks again. Will try to ask fewer question next time

I have had this same problem with this system a number of times. The problem is with the LCD remote because the regular remote seems to always work fine.

did you change the remote or something? cuz this is annoying the heck outta me. I also have the problem where my gas cap would open when i pop the trunk, with the remote or the button in the car. I think some wire got crossed or something
