Just curious as to what certain shops charge to install any of these.

I work at Best Buy. Of course if the alarm is bought from best buy we include the price. For just a remote start, we charge 120. For a keyless and remote start we charge about 149. And for a alarm, remote start, and keyless we charge 199. We will usually charge an extra 17 if we need to go into the door for disarm or locks. and usually around 25 for a bypass install. I was just curious as to what other shop charge.

fast learner.....those prices you shot out there.......are impossible, you might say that when you get the customer there, but once you sink you claws in the car, another story, there will be some extra charges for SURE!!

you guys just try to lure the customer to the store, then hammer them with a bill of 400 dollars and maybe the car will start....cause i seen the installers you guys hire.

17 to go into the door!!.....holy shhh

25 by pass?........i am guessing your take a key from the customer, cause most installers are using bypass kit(data) , no key required, programmed bypass kits. They usually run from 40 to 80 depends on the car or truck.

here is a good question to ask your INSTALLERS?

How much would you charge to install a remote starter on 2005 BMW X5

you have to connect the doorlocks cause the original alarm works with the lock and unlock and there inside the driver door. requires you to go through the door jam boot.

i would like to know what any INSTALLER would charge??

Testing is the key

Slicksam.  I don't want to get anyone pissed off or anything.  The prices fastlearner listed are the labor rates.  Doesn't include parts or the extra hassles we have to deal with during the install.  Please don't judge all best buy installers by work that's done by a stupid few.  I will admit we as a company have some installers that should under no circumstances be anywhere near a car, but hey big business they'd rather pay the damage claims on customers cars than pay for proper training or paying the good installers what they're really worth.  If I told you what I get paid for what I'm capable of doing and how long I've being doing this you'd probably laugh yourself to death.  Again I don't want this to start a war but if it does I'm sorry.
